Jake has his B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from Union College (Schenectady, NY). He has experience with the medical device design process, with previous projects optimizing the hemodialysis process. Currently, he is focused on navigating the FDA process and bridging health requirements with technology development. While at Union College, Jake was captain of the football team. Following Union, Jake graduated from the M.S. Innovation and Management program at Tufts University. Currently, he is also a mentor for BUILD where he works with local students to build and launch their businesses.
Konstantinos has both his B.S. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens, concentrating in Systems and Electronics. Afterwards, he worked as an Electrical Engineer at GordiaNet and as a Computer Engineer at the OTE Group. His vast engineering experience has translated into strong financial abilities, as Konstantinos is leading Finances and Fundraising. Konstantinos is also a graduate of the M.S. Innovation and Management program at Tufts University. During his time in Greece, he was a competitive water polo player.
Hojat Rezaei, PhD
Dr. Hojat Rezaei is the lead researcher of the technology from Tufts University. He has been a professional computer scientist and programmer since 2005, where he developed several computational tools and programs to simulate physics at nano/micro/mesoscale. He has 10 years of experience in particle and fluid physics, with 8 years in chip devices and micro/nanofabrication techniques. He is motivated by new biotechnologies with the potential to impact human health, and has accomplished his postdoctoral studies with Harvard Medical School, MIT, and Tufts University.
Michael Singer, MD, PhD
Dr. Michael Singer is a graduate of Yale University, where he earned his B.S. in Biology, M.D., and Ph.D. in Neuroscience. He is currently Co-Founder and CSO at Cartesian Therapeutics. Prior to that, he was Director of Translational Medicine at Novartis. Dr. Singer was also Co-Founder and CSO at HealthHonors Corporation and Topokine Therapeutics where they were acquired by Healthways and Allergan, respectively. He is a successful serial entrepreneur, healthcare investor, and physician-scientist with a background in transdermal drug delivery.
Sameer Sonkusale, PhD
Dr. Sameer Sonkusale is the Principal Investigator of the microneedle technology and a Professor of Electrical Engineering at Tufts University. Prior to his time at Tufts, he graduated with his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pensylvania. Dr. Sonkusale is a respected inventor with a portfolio of innovation, as well as Director and Principal Investigator of Nanolab. He is frequently recognized for his innovative projects, including 3D printed pills to sample the gut microbiome and Smart Threads.
